With todays technology you don’t need an expensive bar code scanner to read them, as most smart phones can scan them using free, included or relatively cheap Apps. Once scanned, the phone decodes the QR bar code and points the user to the intended website / page automatically.
These bar codes store text information and can also be used to store contact information, telephone numbers, mailing details, website URL’s and map references to name but a few applications.
